Dear Donna Lynsdale,

I would like to make a supporting representation regarding APPLICATION FOR A NEW PREMISES LICENCE FOR BEAK MRKT,
47 TRAFALGAR STREET, BRIGHTON, BN1 4ED UNDER THE LICENSING ACT 2003.

“We think what Beak are proposing is a fantastic idea and exactly what this area needs. From the beginning we’ve thought a food market is the best way forward for this vacant plot and we can’t think of anyone better to bring this into reality than Beak. We know how much care and attention they put into everything they do and we have no doubt it will be the same with this. We really hope the council approves the plans as it’ll bring some much needed footfall to the businesses already in the area.”

It’s my strong belief that this premise license application will not add to any anti social behaviour or any public nuisance given the nature of the proposed business that it will house being food oriented and will in fact bring a more positive social impact and some much needed regeneration to the area.

Best wishes

Dear Donna Lynsdale,

I hope you are well.

I am writing on behalf of Cut Your Wolf Loose to share our opinion over the Beak Social Club Ltd licensing application.

We would like to make a supporting representation. Having thoroughly read the management plan we believe Beak Ltd have demonstrated their capacity to run a venue in line with the licensing objectives and have demonstrated their commitment to operating within the CIZ. Their commitment to the prevention of crime and disorder through responsible management is demonstrated by their understanding of crowd management on football match days and their commitment to continue to operate a business in line with their existing, well run venue in Lewes. Their commitment to not serving pints and not offering off sales shows their understanding of responsible service.

As a business who has recently had a variation to our licence granted we support the proposal put forward by Beak to implement a creative and community driven business at 47 Trafalgar Street. As a local independent business we welcome the prospect of having other independent businesses such as Beak open a venue on the same street as us. Despite the competitive nature of our trade, we have served their beers in our venue in the past and it is clear that they are willing to conduct business in a fashion that is sustainable and beneficial to the overall wellbeing and atmosphere of the North Laine and the individuals that live within it, complying with the objective to prevent public nuisance.

Thank you for taking the time to acknowledge our support to this proposal.

All the best,

REDACTED and the rest of the CYWL Team.

Dear Donna Lynsdale and EHL Licensing team,

I would like to make a supporting representation regarding the application for a new premises licence for BEAK MRKT, 47 Trafalgar Street, Brighton, BN1 4ED under the Licensing Act 2003.

As a resident of Trafalgar Street, Licensee and North Laine business owner, I welcome the addition of a responsibly licensed and well run establishment on these premises as outlined in Beak's management plan. I can see from the application that the applicant has given due consideration to the CIZ and plans to run the outlet in such a way that will not cause additional disturbance to an already vibrant area. In my view, the restrictions of sizes of servings of alcohol available, commitment to soundproofing and commitment to door staff illustrate this. I have seen the way that the applicant operates their licensed premise in Lewes and am confident that their track record of running responsibly managed licensed venues will be taken into consideration here.

I especially welcome the creation of jobs for local people and believe the independent nature of the business adds to the ethos of the North Laine, enriching the economy in a responsible way, whilst taking into consideration the needs of local residents.

Best wishes,

REDACTED, Trafalgar St Resident and Local Business Owner
