Purpose:
The councils annual publication of all matters
to the way council employees are remunerated, this is a statutory
report required to be approved by full council every year
Decision:
That the Committee recommends to Council the adoption of the pay policy statement 2015/16 attached at Appendix 1.
Reasons for the decision:
It is a requirement of the Localism Act 2011 that Members are consulted prior to the publication of the Pay Policy Statement. It is therefore recommended that Policy and Resources Committee approve this report and make the recommendation to members to approve the Pay Policy Statement 2015/16.
Alternative options considered:
The Pay Policy Statement is a statutory publication and we are therefore obliged to publish it. Consideration has been given to the levels of transparency contained within the report, but the conclusion reached is that the detail is in compliance with guidance issued on this subject.
