Purpose:

This report seeks approval to refresh the Carers Strategy, to provide a commitment and support to family and friend unpaid carers, and a framework for enabling services and organisation to ensure they are 'Carer Friendly'.

Decision:

1)             Approvethe CarersStrategy, “ThinkCarer –Building aCarer FriendlyCity 2026-2030”, draft attached in Appendix 1.

 

2)             Agree to delegate authority to the Corporate Director for Homes and Adult SocialCare, inconsultation withthe CabinetMember for Homesand Adult

          Social Care and the Carers Strategy Group, to make minor amendments required to ensure alignment with any relevant new legislation or policies that may come into force during the lifetime of this strategy.
