Purpose:
Approval to implement a city-wide, multi-agency strategy to address single homelessness and rough sleeping.
The item has been deferred from the 8th October CMM until April 2009, as the Government is currently reviewing national Rough Sleeping Strategy and the deferral will allow the council to take the national approach into consideration before finalising a local strategy.
The item has been deferred from the 29th April Housing Cabinet Member Meeting to enable further work to be completed to the Equalities Impact Assessment in light of new procedures relating to EIA’s.
Decision:
(1) That the Single Homeless Strategy 2009–14 as detailed in Appendix 1 to the report be approved.
