Trans people suffer discrimination in accessing services
and have particular vulnerabilities in relation to safety and
welfare; and are being asked to share their experiences to help
inform recommendations for action.
Chaired by Councillor Phelim MacCafferty the
panel comprises Councillors Denise Cobb, and Warren Morgan joined
by co-optees Jay Stewart and Michelle Ross. The panel will look at
issues faced by trans people who work
socialise or study in Brighton and Hove.
Co-ordinator for the LGBT Health and Inclusion Project Nick Douglas
is assisting the panel.
The panel have visited support groups Clare Project,
MindOut, FTM and Transformers during July and are setting up
meetings in public on 20 and 27 September 2012.
