Agenda item - Licence fees 2025/26

RESOLVED:

2.1      That the committee approves the following licence fees for 2025/26:

Taxi Licence fees - as set out in Appendix 1.

Sex Entertainment Venues and Sex Establishments fees – as set out in

Appendix 2.

Street Trading fees – as set out in Appendix 2.

All Gambling Act 2005 fees – as set out in Appendix 2.

Body piercing – as set out in Appendix 2.

All Animal Activity Licences fees - as set out in Appendix 3.

15.1    The Regulatory Services Manager introduced the report to the committee.

15.2    Councillor Fowler was informed that:

·         The licensing of dog walkers in the city could be looked at and reported back to the committee.

·         The breeding of cats and dogs could be looked at within the national guidelines.

·         No licence was required for a cat café, only the health and safety could be investigated.

15.3    Councillor O’Quinn was informed that:

·         The council could reach out to other authorities for best practice on dog walkers licensing.

·         The breeding of cats and dogs could be looked at.

·         Street trading could be looked at the licensing summit.

15.4    Councillor Davis was informed that:

·         The council could set a precedent regarding licensing dog walkers and that would be a benefit to the city.

15.5    Councillor Sheard was informed that:

·         The Sex Entertainment Venues (SUV) rates were not subsidised.

15.6    Councillor Guilmant was informed that:

·         Street trading rates were looked at.

15.7    Councillor Thomson was informed that:

·         That licensing may only look at areas covered by licensing criteria and single use plastics were a challenge.

15.8    The Chair invited the committee to vote on the recommendations.

15.9    The committee voted unanimously to agree the recommendations.
