Chair's Communication

Minutes:

9.1 The Chair gave the following communication: We have a busy agenda this afternoon, with a requested update on the progress of the Adult Social Care Improvement Plan, an update on the delivery of the housing strategy, SEND Sufficiency, the final report of the antisocial behaviour in social housing task & finish group, and a proposal for our next task & finish group.

We are going to take the items in a different order to that in the agenda as Genette Laws, our Corporate Director for Homes and Care, isn’t able to be with us until later and she will be presenting the item on the Adult Social Care Improvement Plan. So, we will take the Housing Strategy first, followed by SEND Sufficiency, and then Adult social Care.

I was originally planning to have an item on Wellington House following on from the discussion that was had on this during our budget scrutiny meeting in February. However, the consultation only finished last week, meaning that this meeting was too soon for us to provide any meaningful scrutiny. As members may have seen, a special meeting has been arranged for 4th September at 14:00. This will allow time for the consultation results to be analysed and give us the chance to have a whole meeting dedicated to this important issue. It also means that we will be able to discuss and comment on the report that is going for decision at September Cabinet
