Declarations of Interest

(a)       Disclosable pecuniary interests;

(b)       Any other interests required to be registered under the local code;

(c)       Any other general interest as a result of which a decision on the matter might reasonably be regarded as affecting you or a partner more than a majority of other people or businesses in the ward/s affected by the decision.

 

In each case, you need to declare

(i)        the item on the agenda the interest relates to;

(ii)       the nature of the interest; and

(iii)      whether it is a disclosable pecuniary interest or some other interest.

 

If unsure, Members should seek advice from the Monitoring Officer or Democratic Services Officer preferably before the meeting.

Minutes:

109.1      Councillor Druitt declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he was the Director of Protran Services, General Manager of Brighton & Hove Community Transport and Director of the Big Lemon. He confirmed that he had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.2      Councillor Hugh-Jones declared a personal and prejudicial interest in the items listed as she held various shareholdings as listed in her register of interests. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.3      Councillor Phillips declared a personal and prejudicial interest as she was married to Councillor Druitt and therefore benefitted from the interests he had declared. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.4      Councillor Powell declared a personal and prejudicial interest declared a personal interest as she was employed by Sussex Police and her partner had been involved in consultation work with RISE. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer.

 

109.5      Councillor Shanks declared a personal and prejudicial interest as she was a Trustee of Brighton Youth Centre which would benefit from capital funding. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.6      Councillor Atkinson declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he and his wife both worked for the Sussex Partnership NHS Trust and the council had a number of jointly funded services with the Trust.  He confirmed that he had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.7      Councillor Childs declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he was a NEU Senior Regional Officer and confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer.

 

109.8      Councillor Fowler declared a personal and prejudicial interest as her partner was employed at City Clean. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.9      Councillor Platts declared a personal and prejudicial interest as she was an Event Director for East Brighton Parkrun, was a member of the Local Government Association and a Director of Brighton Community Workshop Project CIC. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.10   Councillor Williams declared a personal and prejudicial interest as she held a role with the Community Land Trust. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.11   Councillor Nemeth declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he was involved with the Beach Hut Association and Chair of Hove Lagoon Association. He confirmed that he had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.12   Councillor Peltzer Dunn declared a personal and prejudicial interest as he owned a beach hut. He confirmed that he had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.13   Councillor Pissaridou declared a personal and non-prejudicial interest as she held a parking permit. She confirmed that she had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.14   Councillor West declared a personal and non-prejudicial interest as he was a Trustee of the Brighton Racecourse, and a member of the Brighton & Hove Estate Conservation Trust and East Sussex Fire Authority. He confirmed that he had been granted dispensation to speak and vote on the item by the Monitoring Officer;

 

109.15   No other declarations of interests in matters appearing on the agenda were made.
