Mayor's Communications.

To receive communications from the Mayor.

Minutes:

89.1 The Mayor gave the following communication:

I would like to hold a minutes silence as a mark of respect for Mr Ken Childerhouse whose passing we were recently notified of. Councillors will know of Ken as the Chair of the Independent Remuneration Panel which he Chaired for a number of years and brough recommendations for the Members Allowance Scheme to Full Council to consider.

I am aware that I informed the Council of the success in gaining the Member Development Charter Plus award and would like to present the actual award to Abraham Ghebre-Ghiorghis as the Executive Director Governance People & Resources.

A successful and enjoyable Question & Answer session with the best-selling author Peter James took place in the Council Chamber on the 5 April to raise money funds for my charities.

Finally, we all said goodbye to Mark Wall Head of Democratic Services a week ago and I am also aware that it is Nick Hibberd’s last Council meeting. Nick has worked for the Council for many years and will be hugely missed by colleagues, Members and our partners. He has supported the Council tirelessly in that time in a number of roles, most recently as Executive Director Economy Environment & Culture. I would like to express our thanks to Nick for his service to the Council and to wish him the best of luck in his new role in Croydon.
