Committee details - Audit Committee

The Audit Committee oversees the financial arrangements, audit arrangements and risk management of the Council, and provides assurance independently from the Executive and Council Officers that the Council is managing its funds and assets correctly.

The Audit Committee makes recommendations to Cabinet and Full Council and is responsible for the approval of the annual Statement of Accounts, which it must ensure is in accordance with the Audit and Accounts Regulations 2003.
