ePetition - Annual charging for Watercraft owner Saltdean Beach

Brighton & Hove council intend to start charging £110 from 1st April 2026 to 31st March 2027 to store any watercraft on Saltdean beach. This is a new introduction having not been in operation for the previous years. This has been a great asset to the local community allowing everyone to take to the water for exercise, relaxation and enjoyment.

No security or service is provided apart from a metal wire to chain watercraft to. The council made no effort to reinforce the policy stated before of removal of any watercraft left after September 2025 deadline as possibly this would have taken up too much time/money so have now installed this fee charging alternative.

Please sign the petition if you feel strongly about this and that this service should be available to all regardless if you can afford it or not.
