Change the one-hour parking restriction at Zone W
We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to amend the current one-hour restricted parking period outside Archangel Michael Coptic Orthodox Church from 10:00–11:00 am to 12:00–1:00 pm on all days of the week.
This change is needed because Holy Mass at the church takes place every day and The current parking restriction overlaps with the service and creates difficulties for worshippers, visitors, elderly parishioners, and people with mobility needs.
Moving the restriction to 12:00–1:00 pm would still allow parking control to remain in place, while making access to the church more practical and respectful of the daily religious service.
We believe this change is fair and reasonable. It would allow people to attend Holy Mass without unnecessary parking disruption, while still keeping parking restrictions in place at a more suitable time. This adjustment would better support the needs of the church community, particularly elderly worshippers, families, and those with mobility challenges.
This change would also benefit local neighbours by reducing unnecessary parking pressure during the busiest part of the morning. It would help make the area more convenient for residents, visitors, and anyone using nearby homes or streets during the day. A simple timing adjustment would support both the church community and the wider neighbourhood, while keeping parking rules fair and manageable.
