Install a drinking-water station for people and dogs at Easthill Park in Portslade

We the undersigned petition Brighton & Hove Council to install a free, accessible drinking-water station at Easthill Park in Portslade, suitable for both people and dogs. Easthill Park is a busy and valued community space used every day by local residents, families, children, walkers, runners and dog owners. However, visitors do not currently have reliable access to free drinking water within the park. This is particularly important during warmer weather, when people and animals can quickly become thirsty or dehydrated. Visitors may spend significant periods of time walking, exercising, playing or socialising in the park, yet they must bring their own water or leave the park to find refreshments. Although public toilets are listed at the park pavilion during specified opening hours, this does not provide visitors with a clearly available, dedicated source of drinking water throughout their visit. We therefore ask the council to: • install a robust, accessible drinking-water fountain or bottle

Easthill Park is at the heart of the local community. Every day it is enjoyed by families, children, walkers, runners, older residents and people exercising their dogs.
Despite being such a well-used park, there is no clearly available free drinking-water point for people or dogs. Anyone visiting the park must remember to bring enough water with them or leave the park to find some. During hot weather, this can create a particular risk for children, older visitors, people exercising and dogs.
