This report is to seek approval from Cabinet for the renewal of the existing city centre Business Improvement District (BID) in 2026, which strongly aligns with the city’s Economic Plan and core outcomes 1 (a city to be proud of) and 2 (a fair and inclusive city) of the Council Plan 2023-27.

Consultation process

The BID undertook consultations with affected businesses during June and July 2025. The consultation exercise has been designed to ascertain business perceptions of the BID, priorities for the next five years, improvements needed and the actions that will form the Business Plan from 2026 – 2031.
