Proposed New School for Hove Interim measure
As part of the
Council’s future development of Schools within the
city it was agreed that the Council would look at the options for
providing a new 2 Form Entry (2FE) school in Hove. The purpose of
this report is to update members on progress relation to
recommendations 3 and 4 of the report to Children & Young
People Cabinet Member Meeting on 26th April 2010. Namely to explore
the ways in which a 2 FE primary unit (to include infant and Key
Stage 1) could be established on the site of an existing school in
Hove in temporary accommodation by September 2011. Explore
management of this proposed unit with primary head teachers in
Hove. To consider how the children at the unit would transfer to
any new school once opened.

The setting up of a new primary
school will require extensive consultation with parents, pupils,
school staff,
governors and the community of Brighton & Hove as a
whole.
