Local Development Framework - Brighton & Hove Core Strategy: Shoreham Harbour (DA7) and Urban Fringe (SA4 and CP11) Preferred Options

To seek approval to go out to consultation on the strategic Core Strategy Preferred Option with regard to Shoreham Harbour including the amount of development and the infrastructure required.

 

The lateness of notification for this item to be included on the Cabinet agenda for the 21st May is due to:

(a)  delays to the receipt of key background studies on Shoreham Harbour not directly commissioned by Brighton & Hove City Council and therefore beyond its control, and

(b)  the recent designation of the intended South Downs National Park boundaries and its policy implications.

Consultation process

The Core Strategy has been subject to two rounds of formal public consultation in November 2006 and June 2008. This included an early draft of the Shoreham Harbour Preferred Option. Early stakeholder consultation on options for Shoreham Harbour has been undertaken in November 2008 and March 2009.

 

Internal legal and finance consultation will be undertaken for this report.
